How do I connect Jobber to Mentat?

Open your Mentat account page, tap Connect Jobber, sign in to Jobber, and approve. You land back in Mentat with the connection showing. The person doing it has to be an admin on the shop's Jobber account. That is the whole thing, and nothing in Mentat works until it is done.

Before you start

Make sure you are the Jobber admin, or have one next to you. Jobber refuses the connection to anyone else. If you are not sure who the admin is, it is whoever set up the shop's Jobber account or whoever manages its users.

The round trip

  1. Sign in to Mentat and open the account page.

  2. Tap Connect Jobber. Mentat hands you to Jobber.

  3. Sign in to Jobber if it asks. Use the admin's login.

  4. Jobber shows an approve screen listing what Mentat is asking for. Approve it.

  5. Jobber sends you back to Mentat. The account page now shows Jobber as connected.

What connected looks like

The account page is the place to check. When Jobber is connected, it says so there, and the technician list below it fills from your Jobber users. When it is not connected, the Connect Jobber button is still sitting there.

What to do next

Invite your first technician. Mentat pulls the list of people to pick from straight out of Jobber, so the picker is empty until this step is done. How do I add my technicians and what will they see?

Reconnecting

If you ever need to connect again, it is the same round trip. Tap Connect Jobber, sign in, approve. The new connection replaces the old one. There is nothing to clean up first.

Disconnect is on the same account page. Disconnecting stops Mentat reading jobs from Jobber and writing quotes into it until you connect again.

If it didn't work

Jobber sent you back with a message that an admin is needed. The Jobber login you used is not an admin on that account. Find the admin, sign out of Jobber, and run the round trip with their login.

You landed back in Mentat but it still shows not connected. Run the round trip again from the top.

Still stuck. Reply to any email you have from Mentat and say what screen you are looking at.
